Obligatory “It’s Been a While” Post

It’s been a long while since my last post here, but the reasons for that are pretty simple. The first is that my job has been keeping me extremely busy. Busy is good, and I’ll be posting some new portfolio projects in the next few weeks. The other reason is that I’ve started up a Tumblr blog focusing on all the little interesting things I come across on a daily basis, mostly having to do with art, design, and web development. Since that kind of stuff used to get posted here, updates will be fewer and further between as well as more news focused.

While most designer labor over choosing a typeface for any given project, Brian Hennings of H&FJ is tasked with creating sample art to showcase the foundry’s new releases. Read more about it here.

I normally wouldn’t post twice in the same day (or week for that matter) but as a designer, the just released Fontcase from Bohemian Coding has me pretty excited. Fantastic features like font comparisons, tagging, and serverless font sharing, all wrapped in a slick and intuitive iTunes stye interface brings some sorely needed fresh ideas to the stagnant arena of font management software.
